I watched this last night on MTV, and got really into it, although i can not stand Nick, I was wondering how did these 2 get picked for this, was they famous in America before the program?

They are both singers in America. Although Jessica Simpson has had a few singles out over here, she has also tried acting in Dukes of Hazard alongside Johny Knoxville and Seann William Scott (Lucky cow).

Unfortunately you must have been watching a repeat as the 'Newlyweds' have now split up. What a suprise. :-)

Sorry i might not of made my self very clear, i knew they had tried making a few songs!! (not all that good).

But i was wondering did MTV just pick them out of a big group of people getting wed or was they famous before this show.

I had heard they had split didnt last right long!!!

They were definately famous before program, as I've got a few songs of Jessicas from about 5 years ago, dont know about Nick but think he was in a boy band. I think it was just another way to make money for them, a bit like Britney and her crap program or Posh and Beck docu. The only good one i've ever seen is the osbournes.

nick was fronting 98 degress (similar to backstreet boys and n*sync, only less succesful), they were a bit of a celebrity couple so made sense to use them !
