This, surely, is one of the more 'timeless' songs. Played at many a funeral (including my dad's in 2017) and, while i have neber been a Sinatra fan, i have just learned to play the melody on acoustic guitar - in a 'painting-by-numbers' fashion. And, because it's a slow one, i absolutely love playing it.

Van Morrison, Have I Told You Lately that I Love You.

^^^ Thanks for that, Webbo3.  I didn't know but you've had me reading up on it:

Its a bit odd.^

There are one or two for me. This one always takes me right back to 1971. I was on a training course in Blackpool for stereo radio and vinyl disc player. Learning the transmission and pick up tecniques plus amp and preamp then playback methods. Remember most kit back then was all the lovely valve driven amps and pre-amp stages and was a huge business, as it has become once again. There were about 15 of us from all over the UK and we were all in our early 20s making good headway in a tough World. Some of us had taken a few LPs along just in case we got play time. We did. The Bridge Over Troubled Water L.P.was one and The Boxer from that already referenced album and this is the one that makers me wonder if those guys stayed as happy and full of it as we were then whenever it is played unexpectedly on the radio. We played it to death on that 5 day course. Ronnie Wood doing brilliant work as always.
