He certainly is Barsel. I call him the Malteeser (he's from Malta). When he was singing at Covent Garden with Anna Netrebko a couple of years ago tickets were changing hands for thousands of pounds in the crowds outside of the opera house.

Thank you for starting this post piggy. There are lots more beautiful operatic arias to be heard.

Time for something to eat, haven't had my lunch yet!

I remember really clearly the first time I heard Adagio for Strings (Samuel Barber) and the tears just rolled down my face.

Do you remember it on The Last Night of the Proms just after 9-11? Wow, that was a real tear-jerker ...

18.20,you're welcome LB.
Because you have Roman blood in your genetic make-up from around Hadrian's time or maybe Bouddicea's?
Barsel - // Jim, I wondered why AH was directing that to me. //

Your post followed mine, I assumed you were addressing me - crossed wires.

Apologies for any confusion.
Accepted but not really necessary. :-)
This makes my heart ache.
So does this:

LB I love Malteesers. :-)

Correction: I naively thought the singer was Italian! It's a man called Paul Potts! Didn't he win BGT?
Mind you I still liked his rendition!

19.13, JimF, thanx pal!!
Piggynose, that isn't Paul Potts in the video you put on, I would say you were probably right about that man being Italian, but I don't know for sure. This is Paul Potts and yes he did win BGT some years ago.
He was amazing, and sang it with emotion.
A remarkable return after the Cambodian experiment.

11.06 dougie??

Just looked at both men performing, unless the BGT winner won it years ago and piled on the weight, then they are not the same men!
No-one said, or even suggested, that the main in the OP is Paul Potts.
Enrico Caruso must be the best ever Tenor. When you consider that all we have left is recordings done on primitive equipment(compared to modern tech.) some done in Hotel rooms in the very early 1900s his voice must have been even more remarkable than it sound now. This cracks me up.

Core 'ngrato translates to Ungrateful Heart.
