Part of my early years Patsy
Such a shame, RIP!!
I think 'Hi Ho Silver Lining' is the very last thing he would want to be remembered for - he didn't even write it!
He left behind a great legacy of innovative guitar playing that nobody could emulate, and never will. RIP.
Very sad news indeed, he was a genius.

RIP Jeff.
A true master of his art.

RIP
I have written an Obituary for the Music Instrument News website, and in it I said that remembering Jeff Beck for Hi Ho Silver Lining is like remembering David Bowie for The Laughing Gnome!

I like The Laughing Gnome Andy but I’m really a non conformist who doesn’t care for Dylan ,Procol Harem , Floyd etc :0)
he was certainly an innovator, all the greats are slowly passing sadly
eddie van halen 2019, chuck berry 2017 etc.
Mick Jagger tells a story about Jeff Beck. Jeff had heard some guitar riff on the radio and was trying to play it. He was complaining how difficult it was not realising it was actually two guitars.
Nice article, Andy. I didn't know he'd been invited to join Pink Floyd and The 'Stones.
8 grammy awards - wow!

I saw him with Beck, Bogert and Appice in the mid-70s. I didn't know his music, just that he was up there with Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page. My (hazy) recollection is that he rocked (and played Hi-ho Silver Lining)!
Rest In Peace ...

I've already posted that, Ellipsis! ^^^
Well done, goodgoalie, you win.
R.I.P. Jeff Beck. Another brilliant Brit passes. A leading light in what can now be seen as the era of great innovative guitarists and musicians in general. We didn't realise what we were witnessing back then. I remember seeing the Yardbirds play in 1965 or 66 when I was 17/18, plus many other bands and artists who were so good, and really in hindsight being a bit blasé about it all.

I have written an Obituary for the Music Instrument News website,
good for you ! have they deleted it?

I wrote an obit for Luc Montagnier for AB - big fella IV researcher and some dumkopf deleted it. apparently saying someone is dead is so non-mimsy that out it goes ! I fear for this thread

RIP - - Iloathed hi ho silver lining

A gather the great man did too.
