morning, Thursday already, the days are whizzing by, I hope that you are all in good health and that your day is a pleasant one, do you have any plans for today?

i am home as my brother who i was staying with tested positive for covid, and is decidedly unwell. I am disappointed that we didn't get our late afternoon meal out, but i guess it's for the best. The flat is so hot that i haven't slept well at all, even though i did whilst away.

the forecast for the capital is 24c mostly cloudy, looks like we have seen the back of the heatwave, though Sunday is supposed to be sunny all day.

Morning, Emmie. For the past half hour I have been treated to a fabulous lighting show with both sheet and fork-lightning at the same time, but no thunder or rain. I suppose that you are gallivanting around the country side and/or seaside again today.

we need a thunderstorm here to clear the air, its oppressively hot and most uncomfortable to sleep in.

Oh, I didn't see those posts. So you're back in the "Big Smoke" and its heat. That's unfortunate for your brother, and I hope that fares well.

Why don't you buy one of those tower-fans which oscillate. You can set them for different speeds and they are extremely quiet. I gave one each to my sister and niece and they are so grateful to have them in this type of weather as neither has air-conditioning.

i am considering it Mac, the heat in the flat must be over 80.

my brother has another bad chesty cough, which has kept him awake at nights, my SIL has the same, but he is very unwell, and can ill afford to have come down with covid.

i have yet to unpack, so there is that to do, and then do the washing, and tidy up.

Well, just stick the suitcases under the bed; forget about them; and suddenly remember them when it gets a little cooler.

i wish i could do that but i must hang the stuff up. and put the suitcase away for another 6 months, until i maybe can visit them at Christmas.
