But as with every decade there was some dross songs, I’m in the kitchen prepping a salad as himself comes back from Wyndonham ? ( is that right)
Put Boom radio on….Paul and Paula singing their cheesy follow up to Hey Paul, then Freddie amd the Dreamers If you wanna make a fool of somebody but the biggest drosser had to be Wink Martindale and his pack of cards, but it was 1963 and it did get better :0)

And what about "Tiptoe through the Tulips" by Tiny Tim?
Boom sometimes plays a classic but I end up turning over when rubbish like 7 little girls siting in the back with Fred comes on

Wymondham. Pronounced windam. Daft init!!!
Question Author
I can’t spell it let alone say it, he face timed me from Wells Next to Sea , now that did look nice
Lily the Pink. Awful
Oobla Dee. awful.
Yellow Submarine. awful
And loads more.
The Pop Charts have always been susceptible to invasion by what I consider inappropriate invaders like Deck of Cards and Seven Little Girls. In this category I would add such songs (not all 60s necessarily) as Rolf's Two Little Boys, Max's Pink Toothbrush, Ken's Tears, St Winifred's Grandma and of course the appallingly bad taste Ding Dong.

I’d agree Canary ,Ding Dong?
Wells is near us. I used to work there. My son went to school at Wymondham. One of the very few state boarding schools.
///Wymondham. Pronounced windam. Daft init!!!///

One of Norfolk's little quirks. But the good folk of Sheringham(Norfolk) didn't agree so clarified it when they named one of their streets Wyndham Street (containing the pub Wyndham Arms).
Canary, are you still in Norfolk?
And didn't the BBC refuse to play Chuck Berry's My Ding-a-ling - that may have been the Mary Whitehouse affect though.
Canary - is "Ding Dong" "my Ding-a-ling"?
/// Canary, are you still in Norfolk? ///

No, I left Sheringham in 1972 but go back very occasionally - they've got a splendid little museum there now which I was very taken with on my last visit in 2019.
No bhg, the full title is Ding Dong the Witch is Dead and I think it was an old Disney version (or re-make of same) which topped the charts when Margaret Thatcher died.
