No particularly keen on the band myself, but there's been no escaping the news that they have released new material after 40 years away. Here's a track from their new album;

Lovely that Ken.
A bit schmaltzy to start off but grew into a Thank You For The Music type ballad by the end. Unmistakably Abba though, and the ladies seem to have lost little of their vocal range over time.

I will say though, the CGI Abba mannequins are horrible and lifeless. Seen better in 2000s computer games.
Icant say its really getting me bopping like their older stuff did - maybe my ears are faulty.
sad like the bay-attles
they wouldnt work together and
wanted solo careers

and forty y later having to pay bills and credit card balances
they realise they were better as a grouop than apart

just like that dumb cluck John Lennon

like ring ring - right wing ding !
Thanks Ken
Some interesting readers' comments in The Times this morning.
So many diehard Metal-loving hard rocking greasers who idolise Sabbath/Motorhead/Maiden etc etc admitting that they secretly loved Abba ;o)

I did say in my intro that i'm not particularly keen on them. To be honest, i was putting it mildly. I've never liked their music, though i did always used to sing along to 'Chiquitita' - but i used to sing, "Take your teeth out, tell me what's wrong'. :-)

all 4 still multi millionaires
Mozz // I will say though, the CGI Abba mannequins re horrible//

pardon my ignorance but which bit was CGI? I presume the end sequences? -looked ok to me as I thought it was real. I did think however Agneta had got better looking with age LOL!
I meant the other one anni-frid.
PP 13.29 one of them married a Prince Heinrich Ruzzo Reuss of Plauen so is hardly in need of money to pay off her CC.
I saw it on the tv this morning before my Brother took nieces to Blackpool for the light switch on, anyway he was humming Vou le vou (sp) before he left me house sitting (pets) I’ve being ear wormed all day with it the git.

Of course - that explains why The Beatles reformed doesn't it.

Oh, hang on ...
AuntPG- yeah it was the final bit with them on stage performing the song. Maybe it's that I'm used to seeing CGI on film and in games, that I'm more sensitive (and critical) to it. It just seemed very fake to me. Maybe "deepfake" tech would've been better than CGI.
Got to say I love the song, love Abba, unmistakeably their vocals, not bothered about the cgi stuff (I don't think they've got the faces right so the images are kept dark and concentrated only on Anni). You have to remember they are in their 70s, they still look great in the flesh and sound great when you think about it.
Have always loved ABBA. I can remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when they appeared on the Eurovision Song Contest and I knew straight away they would win it with Waterloo.
They are one of the few groups I never tire of listening to and I'm looking forward to their new album.
This is honest clean music compared to Stormzy rap of “£##€ the punanni” lyric continually repeated to undergrads to bounce & wave their smart cells to at £40+ per thick head!

FRom unhappy gma who got the bill :(
I've seen items on the TV news on this.

It pains me to have to report that I don't fancy Annie-Fied any more.
Anni-Frid
