they played our town hall - Brian Jones was still in the band. I've got the ticket somewhere. We were in the gallery almost above the stage and I think we were probably about 50 feet away from them. Last time we saw them at Twickenham it was more like 50 miles!

they were still a blues band when we saw them, just starting to try out rock music. About 1965 I think it was.
they had them on the radio and the DJ asked "Will you still being this when you're 30?" and Mick said no, he didn't think so.

his dad was a PE teacher, wasn't he? Taught him how to keep fit, I should think. He has to spend at least 30 minutes a day chasing girls.
Charlie was the only one that didn't chase girls. RIP Charlie

Wow, that’s very impressive Khandro
That's an excellent likeness Khandro, you're very talented.
I saw the stones at the free concert in Hyde Park.
So sad.
R I P Charlie.
That portrait has captured the essence of him, brilliant.
As a police officer in Bradford I stood in the wings of the stage they were appearing on and a chat with Mick Jagger and Brian Jones. This was in the early sixties whan the were just becoming household names.
I saw the Stones a few times before they were famous, when they played at Eel Pie Island. I remember they used to play Chuck Berry’s Poison Ivy amongst other things. Great times.
I first saw them at Earl's Court in 1975. A 6 point star-shaped stage slowly opened to reveal the band and i was dismayed to find myself looking at their backs. However, the center of the star, on which the band stood, rotated every so often, which, in effect, gave us front row seats. Besides which, Jagger made use of every inch of it, as per usual. Some in the crowd were a tad hostile because The Stones were using this concert to test some of their new material which fans hadn't really had much time to get used to. Me and my mates thoroughly enjoyed the entire performance, though.
Kandro @7:42. That's rather brilliant mate. Great kob.
Was he still the drummer on recent tours?
I saw the stones twice in '82. Once at wembley+ once at roundhouse park leeds.
