Oh hell they're all coming out the woodwork now eh?

To be fair it was an old story - just thought it gave some insight into Prince Charles and shows how accusations of racism seem unlikely to be true.
Over 40 years ago the world was a much different place Lankeela
That's her back in the public eye then. She had a go at Jim Davidson too. Strangely, it always years past the actual 'events'.
I reckon it was Kate.

It probably went along the lines, do you think it will be a boy or a girl? Will it be ginger? I wonder what colour eyes. I wonder if he or she will have any of its grandmother's skin colour.

Is that racist?
Four year old link. Nothing to do with the current uproar.
I don't think "fancying" someone necessarily disproves racism. It's a different thought. But I'm also not sure that the "racism" question was anything more than vague interest on what a baby might look like.
Prince Charles having allegedly been a womanizer has what to do with current controversy?
"Is that racist?"

As mentioned elsewhere - it's racist if someone thinks it's racist!
Your righ Hopkirk about the conversation not necesaily racist, probly no racism at all. Its easy to see how a conversation went that wasnt racist . It could just be Megans spin on it
Thought it was Philip who was racist. "Slitty eyes" and other derogatory remarks in the same vein.
Meghan is digging herself a very big hole.
It all depends what was said and in what context. No one but those present really knows & as HM said "recollections may vary" or words to that effect.
Harry said the remark was made at the beginning of his relationship with Meghan, before they were even married. Didn't someone ask Harry if he had given enough thought to who he was marrying as he hadn't known her very long? Perhaps other questions were also asked.
Anagram of Meghan: Men Hag.
I'm trying to think, honestly, for myself- my granddaughter is half Jamaican, half Icelandic and half English. I don't remember any conversations about her skin colour particularly, but as with all other babies in the family, we did wonder about hair, eye colour etc. It's just interest, as otherwise it's 9 months of knowing not much.
Having said that, one of my best friends, seeing her skin is like a light tan and her hair is dark reddish brown, said "you got away with that, then".
So, I understand how unexpectedly and suddenly it can become a negative.
I agree with Pixie. Not racism, just general interest. I can imagine Camilla saying something ‘larky’ like what colour might their kids be.

This is an edited excerpt about a mixed race couple from a Mary Wesley novel published in 1985.

“Very fair Hannah with bitter chocolate Terry?”
“Milk chocolate babies?”
“Great!”
“All in favour!”

Can’t you just imagine Camilla being part of a conversation like that? No malice intended at all.
//half Jamaican, half Icelandic and half English\\

So now three halves make a whole.
And yet Meghan said the remark was made when she was pregnant. Load of spiteful rubbish from the pair of them.
bit odd your granddaughter having 3 halves though!
