Should the male feel disgraceful/stupid for being a part of such a fandom that has a really bad negative stigma with them because of their antics (like cutting themselves when a member leaves, screaming manically, being into these guys ONLY because of their looks/lust)?

Not to mention, the face that a boy band fandom consists of only females (with possible gay men in there), do that male who is straight will be a minority/outcast in that fandom.

What do you guys think about the male being a part of a fandom like this

Honestly, I can't see what point you're trying to make. I love(d) The Beatles and The Rolling Stones back in the day without having any sexual interest in any of them. Same with later bands who had a predominantly female fan base e.g. Adam and the Ants, Duran Duran etc.
I think he may be doing it to get up close with the girl fans!
''And why or why not a male should feel disgraceful for being a part of it (considering the antics they pull plus the fact that it consists of females only)? ''

If it consists of females only then a male should not feel disgraceful as he cannot be a part of something that only consists of females.

IMO, anyone can like who the heck they want.
How about you ignore everyone else's opinion and just get on with it. If I give you my opinion I'll be banned.

Learning to not care what others think might be a blessing for you.

Jimf- I’m not making a point. I’m asking what is your opinion on those types of fandoms considering the antics they have pulled? And whether you think a male should it should feel disgraceful for being a part of that fandom?

Albaaqwerty - If the goal was to meet women then I see your point. But I’m talking the concept of feeling like a minority/weirdo because your the only type that is associated with this type of thing (especially when it was created for the other gender). Now I guess based on your answer, you don’t think a male should feel bad about being in this type of fandom, but what is your opinion bout the boy band fandom in general considering what they have done?
I am happy to repeat what I said last time -

pop music is to be enjoyed, it's fun, it's harmless, and it's not for agonising over.

If liking this band is causing you issues, like someone else, or ignore what anyone thinks and carry on liking them.

My opinion, since you repeatedly ask for 'our' opinions, I can obviously only give you mine, is that fans are not decided by gender, either theirs or their fans - you like who you like, and that's fine.

Anything else, look for another band to like.
"considering what they have done"

What have they done?
BTW, I seriously doubt that they actually cut themselves when someone leaves!

Publicity is a wonderful thing, and lots of bands have vivid imaginations in ways to use it!

Jimf - as they description said:

“a fandom that has a really bad negative stigma with them because of their antics (like cutting themselves when a member leaves, screaming manically, being into these guys ONLY because of their looks/lust)”

Andy-Hughes — it ACTUALLY happened when Zayn left 1D, as well as even cutting schools because of it.

Look it up, it actually happened!
Why do the opinions of others matter to you so much? How old are you?
Question Author
I’m asking cause I’m curious on your opinion on this type of fandom.
Why are you so concerned about these (apparently) few male fans and our opinions of them?
You like what you like, just go with it.

Besides, model yourself on the band members, and I reckon you'll be very popular with the female fandom.
Who is committing these "antics"...the boybands, their female fans?? I've never really heard of that happening...either here or in the US. Are you in a different country...say Japan or Korea?
For heavens sake...live and let live...if you have a problem with men being fans of groups that mainly have a female fan base then that really is your problem and to be honest you should really address your problems with it and allow people to enjoy what they enjoy without all this angst. There are plenty of groups that attract male fans and occasionally female fans...is this a problem for you? I really think the problem is yours.
A have read your 'Question' 5 times now and I still can't understand what your 'Point' is !
What is a 'fandom' ? I have never heard the word !

Pastafreak - the fandom is doing these antics, as the description said: a fandom that has a really bad negative stigma with them because of their antics (like cutting themselves when a member leaves, screaming manically, being into these guys ONLY because of their looks/lust).

MallyJ - I’m not knocking the males at all. I’m simply asking your opinion in the boy band fandom in general and whether you think it is disgraceful that male is part of this dangerous fandom or not?
