very
God yeah. Listened to her in the car the other saturday afternoon on the radio, she's not bl**dy funny at all
i think she's great...funny and smart.
she grates alright

why is it that when men act 'a bit mad' and loud, (chris evans, chris moyles) everyone thinks they're annoying BUT, a character - but when a woman does, she is considered just plain annoying?

this is the 21st century, an age of equality, and women don't have to act as men would like, or expect, them too any more.

I think its good that she is being herself and not pretending to be 'ladylike' for fear of being disliked.

if you don't thinnk she's funny that's fine (neither do I) but then she is not comedian.

I am not a fan at all, by the way, I just think its unfair that she is hated for not being more 'demure'

chris' evans & moyles grate on me too. Are we not allowed to have an opinion without the equality cliches being rolled out joko?

Your interpretation of us expecting her to be more demure is rather subjective.

I think that she is funny at times but not every second, the same as when she is annoying. But i have to agree with Joko; She is just being herself
Bloody Yes!!!!

I think she is annoying, but then so are all the Radio One DJ's - all pretending to talk like students when they are all obviously past university age - i find it a bit creepy.

But then, I'm not in their target audience, so I have no real issue - I just dont listen to them.

I actually used to like her before she became a radio 1 dj, I myself am considered a ladette but she is really boring on the radio, but Chris Moyles does make me laugh before a depressing day at work
i cant stand her either - scott mills is the best !

very, and a rubish radio dj

What other word could possibly describe her?
I think Sara Cox is very, very annoying but not as joko suggests because she is a woman but because she comes across as trying too hard. I like Lauren Laverne now she has a natural wit and is funny without trying.
The thing I found annoying was how she slurred her words. She talks like she's just drunk a pint of whiskey in ten seconds flat. Agree about Lauren Laverne but not Scott Mills!
lets have another chowooune!!

Octavious - Cliches become cliches for a reason.

Of course you are entitled to your opinion, as I am to mine, but as the general public dislike for Sara Cox is mostly down to this very reason, I think it would be strange to dicuss her without mentioning it.

As I said, the main reason people dislike her is for the whole ladette thing - most men, and many women, famously found this "movement" abhorrent, they didn't like women behaving 'unladylike'.

Although she is not as much like that now, the mud has stuck.

It's the same reason a lot of men don't like Jo Brand and other 'feminists' like Janet Street-Porter and of course Germaine Greer. They challenge men and make them uncomfortable, they are out of familiar territory, and feel threatened, and they don't like it.

People, both male and female, jump on the band wagon when someone in the media is singled out for hostilty...which is very sad and weak.

You can't like everyone in the world, but why turn it into hate?

Lots of DJs aren't funny, but they are not treated with the venom she is - if you don't like her (and as I said- I don't like her either) - don't listen! It's really quite simple.

Immensely! Its her accent, or should I say her pronunciation, where she just drawls on and on, almost as if its an effort to her to make an effort to speak properly.

Let me make something absolutely clear: this is NOT a northern thing - I'm a Brummie, hardly the perfect accent, and happen to love a good northerr accent. Its the droll, lazy speech patterns she uses. Vernon Kay - same accent....great to listen to..he has some enthusiasm!

Its often joked that certain 'visually challenged' people on TV have the perfect face for radio....Sara Cox - perfect voice for Hades!
