As a DJ, I've had my share of conversations on this issue, and my advice to the couple involved is always the same - it's YOUR day, have the song you want, and if you don't want to do the 'first dance', then don't - it's not compulsery, and some people do it because it's expected, and have a miserable humilating time. Those that do have varied from Spandau's 'True' which is a fave of lots of people, to The Smiths' 'What Difference Does It Make?' which I thought was brilliant! One couple even took secret lessons and performed a unique faultless routine to The Beatles' 'And I Love Her' which was a jaw-dropping reponse to the groom's friends who had ragged him for weeks about his two left feet. Keep it simple, make it something you will remember, and if you're not happy, advise your DJ to start with something from the charts, and get everyone up together.
obviously its up to the couple to choose their fave song but i love 'amazed' by lonestar and 'from this moment' by shania twain. not for those who hate country music!! hope that helps. xx
Atlantic Star and Always was ours (80's cheesy tune!). I always wonder why people choose I Will Always Love You - that's all about separation if you listen! Very odd choice!
one i had thought about would be ben by micheal jackson, you might know the song and know he sang it about his rat but from a human point of view it is a nice song a suggestion if you dont have a song but have a few in mind give the dj a few and get him to pick one
One Ive heard quite a few times is Songbird by Eva Cassidy - and Its a beautiful song!!
