Another afternoon and evening watching the most wonderful performances from children eight and under to young people in their early twenties.....

Some of the performances were stunning and one eighteen year old lad brought tears to my eyes....that's not easily done....
And the little ones just starting to perform to an audience were a joy....

It's been years since I worked with children and I've started to become a bit coloured by the bad things we read.....this has almost made me want to go back and recapture the pleasure I used to get from the smallest achievement of a child I worked with.....

Almost....but not quite.....I think I enjoy retirement a bit too much....and I'm not keen on this getting up early lark any more....

But I am having the most enjoyable week......☺

one eighteen year old lad brought tears to my eyes...

Didn't tread on your foot did he, gness.
To my knowledge all proceedings of an eisteddfod are conducted entirely in Welsh, Dych chi'n siarad Cymraeg yn rhugl, 'te, Gness?
Question Author
No, Tony......not til he's much older.....

Well, nothing I can do about that, Jack....we've had one here for over a hundred years.....I haven't attended all....x
//we've had one here for over a hundred years.....I haven't attended all....x//

Your are laying yourself open to flippant remarks here. Did you miss the first three? (Runs and hides)
Is it a bit like what Sir Bob Geldof raised money for?

Feed the Welsh?
Question Author
I made the third.....x
Jack, she may now be holding a doll called Jack with pins in her other hand, take care
Please ignore split infinitive
Question Author
Yes....we have a box inside the door....for leeks....

But we don't actually raise money.....just enjoy.....☺
Question Author
Oh, Psybb...you know me so well......♣
to boldly prick where no pricks have been before.......
Psybbo, there is no infinitive in your post so no split and no need for an apology. It is perfectly acceptable to insert an adverb between the subject and a participle.
Question Author
I haven't inserted an adverb between the subject and the participle since that woman at the pub quiz really annoyed me......☻
Next time you go to the quiz, Gness, take me. I could teach her all about dangling participles.
Question Author
Okay, Jack....how are you on Soaps?.....We fall down a bit there...but if you know your Corrie you're in......☺
Funnily enough, Corrie is the only soap I know anything about. I have watched it since the first episode, which gives my age away.
gness, if you record the soaps you could always skip through the adverbs.
