One can only hope so!
no, it's because they think he is still too young, and that once he retires entirely from football, and turns to business, charity works full time then that may when it happens. I don't think she is uppity...
he could be a football manager of course, and that seems to take a time to get dubbed.
He never should have shown US his grundies!
I like her, Dee
Had this just been announced Dee that he is missing out? I thought it was Andy Murray who is NOT getting a knighthood as expected. I personally think they are cutting down on celebrity "Sirs" which is a good thing.
i think that Becks has done a good job, role model to many aspiring footballing youngsters. he is a good ambassador for Britain, is recognised almost the world over, sure he will get his Knighthood one day,
-- answer removed --
well he is not so much a celebrity, like the fools on that programme TOWIE.
he was a good footballer, he had his moments of having a strop, but it wasn't often, and still considered one of the best crossers of the ball
and his role in getting the Olympics to be staged in London is not to be dismissed. I like him and always have.
Really?

Re; the 'modern' celebrity footballer
many who do good works don't get a sniff of a knighthood, some get it and don't merit it, some should have the title stripped off them. I am not much concerned about people's titles, but if it was in the offing i suggest Becks would be honoured and proud to receive it.
It is a fallacy that knighthoods are for 'good works'

For many years they have recognised services and achievements in particular professions.
It is really quite easy to recommend a member of the community for an award. Quite why so many bang on about it being elitist is beyond me, it really isn't difficult to research how to nominate.
I doubt it; she has always come across as extremely supportive of her husband and family, and she actually seems alright in any interview I've seen of her, don't know why you think she's uppity!
Rather have celebs than mindless civil servants.
I don't think it's his wife's attitude, she has made success out of her clothing ventures and is a mother of four lovely children. Becks has the OBE to be going on with. It beats me why Bradly Wiggins was given the honour he is just a one-off winning cyclist as far as I can see, so I can't really see why Becks was ignored. The honours list definately needs to be sorted
Sir Hopkirk - yes I like the sound of that.
Lady Victoria would have made up the ultimate accolade. Glad David and Andy aren't getting knighthoods more deserving people than them just because you are a sportsman that has won some matches does merit honours.
Knighthoods---antiquated poppycock in my simple view.Only re-enforcing class divisions in our already divided society.
