are you sure the somebody was in Britain? Foreigners may know no more about Wimbledon than I know about the Iditarod.
...not realising that Wimbledon is a place - and knowing that the Olympic move from country to country each year... however, it is a bit daft, you wouldn't say "is the French Open held in France each year"?
When daughter was small she heard about a book she wanted. No title or author! I went into Smith`s and described the book.

I like do you love me, craft, mainly because when I said it to my husband he answered 'always' which I thought was a perfect answer and which I treasure in my memories. I know I am an old sentimentalist but there you go, just one of those things.
