Have any off you thought about the music for your funeral. Went to one today of a friend. When we walked in the church they were playing "Love is in the air" by John Paul Jones. And at the end it was "May each day" by Andy Williams. It was really nice and such a change. I am tempted to have "Another one bites the dust" Queen. What about you lovely lot?

A cut and paste from my will:
"I desire that my body be cremated without ceremony and that my ashes be disposed of, also without ceremony, in any convenient refuse receptacle".

So I'm not hoping for any music!

However, if someone insists, I suppose that I might opt for what a very large number of people already seem to choose ;-)

Queen, Dont stop me now, I dont think my kids would approve :(
My Husband chose his own and I honoured his wishes.
On second thoughts, this would be really great for a cremation ;-)

old and wise Alan parsons project
mamyalynne what were your husbands wishes?
I'm hoping to have Coldplay's Fix You.
My friend's husband died in November. They played Johnny Cash "I walk the Line" leaving the crematorium. She said later that "Ring of Fire" was his favourite but it didn't seem appropriate at the time!
I would like john Lennons Imagine.
Mrs jd and I went to the funeral yesterday of an 18 yr old boy, sadly killed on Boxing Day.

Of course the occasion was sad, but without doubt the happiest funeral I have been to. 4 pieces of his favourite music were played including 2 Rap songs. I always thought I couldn't stand Rap, but reading the words along with the song were amazing.

His mum and dad were wonderful, and it truly was a celebration of an all too short a life.

As for me, I want to out to Gracie Fields singing 'Wish Me Luck As You Wave Me Goodbye!'
John Lennons 'Imagine' Imagine there's no heaven or hell below!! Not sure the vicar wouldm approve
As an ex-miner I always wanted Going Underground by the Jam but like maggiebee's friends the family did not think it appropriate, so it will be this one
It's always the music that makes me blub at funerals, at my grandad's we had Danny Boy, I was ok til we heard that, now everytime I listen to it I cry. I want The Whole Of The Moon by The Waterboys and The Power Of Love by Frankie Goes To Hollywood as that was our wedding dance song.
Forgot the religious bit, I want this hymn it's beautiful. Media URL: http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=GB#/watch?v=0FMUttpSllY

I've contemplated Leslie Sarony's "Ain't it grand to be bloomin well dead". And perhaps Prodigy's "Firestarter. They seem appropriate for me.
See if I have any luck this time. Media URL: http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=GB#/watch?v=0FMUttpSllY

I am with Chris.
I'd like Somewhere over the Rainbow/Wonderful world by Israel Kamakawiwoʻole - it's an awesome cover version, it makes me feel warm inside when I hear it!
