Is it only me or do any other A/Bers think that the BBC can't spend license payers money quickly enough ? Why does it take 2 news readers to be paid to share reading the news every day,It's hardly rocket science is it ? And '' The One show'' 2 of 'em to introduce & interview guests ? and I now see in the Radio Times that next Tuesday Radio 2 is having '' A Doubles Day'' where low & behold all day they will be having TWO disc jockeys to play records & discuss matters of pop & jazz etc for every programme. In these days of cut backs has aunty beeb completely lost it ?. Ron.

don't get me going Ron. Why oh why do they need THREE pundits on the sports programmes. There are often three people commentating on sports programmes as well. Just so much more drivel in my opinion.
Couldn't agree more Ron. I think one of the most scandalous waste of licenece payer's cash is in BBC Regional TV.

Here in the West Midlands they have 6 or 7 main presenters that appear in front of camera from time to time. Yet this morning from 6.00am to 9.00am the regional news and weather was presented every 30mins by two of their weather presenters. The third weather presenter they have on the payroll presented the Sunday night late night news. Heaven knows where all the other presenters had got to.

Add to that the 20 or so reporters that appear on screen regularly plus backroom staff, camera & sound staff the wages bill for Regional TV must be astronomical. Given that they only broadcast for about 60mins a day and less at weekend this must be one of the biggest waste of our money there is.

Not so long ago they had a website listing all their staff. It has now been changed to just three presenter profiles. I think they were embarrassed to list all of them.
As bimbo says ron,Don't get me started about the BBC,I would be here all night.
Because they think its important to get their message across, how many went to the Beijing Olympics, and aren't they moving half the staff up north, which won't save a lot, in the long term. My licence fee is a lot for programmes that i don't watch.
You're right too. Should be a pay per view channel. In fact, why do you need to see the presenters at all for the news? Surely a voiceover would do. If necessary to show a presenter, show them from the neck up and you at least save on clothes allowances.
Get over yourself - watch US tv for an hou and you'd be running back to the beeb. Have you noticed there's not a moment of non-BBC programmes on, with the exception of the odd movie? Not many channels can boast that.
