Over the past couple of weeks, I've bought four earpieces for one ear ...

... for use with my iPod.

I've become conscious that, when I'm running with normal earphones, I can't hear things like ...

"Hey, watch out for that ... "

or

"BEEEEEEEP!"

So anyway, these four that I've bought ... have all been crap ...

... despite claims of supposedly being good.

So, I've found this website ...

http://onegoodearbud.com/

... but I have to order it from the US.

Before I gamble $20 on YET ANOTHER earpiece ... I wonder if anyone here knows anyone in the UK who produces really good sounding, bassey, mono earpieces?

ps. Hi, Guys. Happy Friday.

eerrr, couldn't you just get a pair you like here and not wear it in one ear? Or am I missing something?
Oh and Hi!!

Milly ... someone will no doubt beat me to this explation, but ...

With a pair of earphones, they work in stereo.

So you get part of the music in one ear, and part in the other ear.

That's how thet create the effect that the music is close to you.

If you remove one earpiece, you lose part of the music.

So, for instance, you might lose the vocals altogether.

A one-sided mono earpiece takes ALL of the bits of music, and plays it all on one side.

So, just removing one of a pair of earphones doesn't work.
Have a look on this site here JJ ! Might find something you like.

Wow ... cool site, redman.
They are based in Hove as well JJ ! You will have to cross the Border !! lol
Question Author
Golly, so they are!

I thought the only things made in Hove were bathchairs, and jam, and doilies.
UInfortunately you cannot visit their Warehouse even though they are based nearby, but anything you order shoud be a quick delivery. Might pay you to Phone them up !

Oooh, I've just looked ...

They really are in deepest, darkest Hove ... like WAAY beyond the Floral Clock and the Cricket Ground ...

beyond which one should not venture because, if you are there for too long, you suddenly find yourself liking beige anoraks and listening to Radio 2.
LOL !!! Keep safe incase the Hovians get you !! :-))

redman ...

Not a serious risk. They don't move very fast.
Well I would counsel against them if you are running with them.

Someone I know in the States who was a city councillor was killed when she was jogging with them on. Stepped out into the road at a traffic light that was at green, didn't here the SUV and "splat," red jam and liver all over the tarmac.

Mind you, the traffic is so bad in Brighton that you probably don't have that risk.

DTC ...

I mostly run on the beach.

And I need my iPod to pace my running. I have a Playlist ot tracks that play at my running ppm rate. I can't run without an iPod.

But ... thank you for your concern. I will try not to get killed.
Running on Brighton beach must be flaming hard work!
Brother in Law who is in Traffic and also family liaison officer has just had to deal with the death of someone on a push bike ...leaving place of employment on Friday night on cycle and swerved in front of a car. He had earphones in and they think he lost concentration to the fact that cars were behind him on road.
The car driver was a work college also :-(
Jayne - I hear you about running on the Brighton beach. You must be a Rolling Stones fan then.

OMG SIRar ... cycling with headphones is really stupid.

And yes, Chuck ... it IS hard work. The pebbles crunch away under your feet as you push against them. But it's a REALLY good workout for you butt, LOL.

Just to be totally masochistic, I usually run through the shallows.
