I think any Kate Bush is sad - cause I was once slim young and lovely like she was
Its the reason that I cannot listen to her new stuff too
I think we all see these songs through our own eyes and circumstances, This Hollies version of this song was played at my H younger brothers funeral who sadly died at age 47. I do like a song to move me and I'm afraid all of 'em have done a good job this morning (No wonder Kleenex is a multi-million pound Co')

Hi Salla - the Willie Nelson version is down for the present Mrs Hughes, if life becomes utterly unliveable, and she is taken from me first.

If i am first to depart, i have asked for this to be played - given my lifelong passion for my music, this should be appropriate.

What about the late great Hank Williams I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry
I have to add Old Shep by Elvis, has always made me cry.
Not sure of the exact title ...AMong the Fields of Barley/ Fields of Gold by Sting - I fil lup every time I hear it - think it has something to do with it being played in the back ground of an infomercial about cancer
The song always reminds the husband of his old man and makes him sad....Always tell the ones you love that you love them...every single day, that's my motto...

I have always missed Harry Chapin, it's sad knwoing that his talent was never going to soar beyond this, his brother Tom failed to match his talent
Agreed Dotty.

Pixi - I listened to 'Pal of My Cradle Days' when my Mum was dying. I was in bits.

Jim Croce was the same, bloody awful to have only found him just as he was lost. I played his songs at work constantly and people would just buy the albums.
For dog lovers, this is one of the few sad songs I know about the loss of a dog. (Apart from Old Shep, of course)
