Can anyone help me - I am thinking of buying my daughter an MP3 player but not sure how many songs can be stored. What does it mean if it is 128mb or 256mb?

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

I go by the rule of thumb of 1Mb = 1 min of music.
1mb = 1 minute is about right.

I had a 256mb player and could normally get 4 or 5 albums on it depending on their duration if that helps.
Depending what your budget is and how old your daughter is, check out the iPod shuffle and the iPod nano.
I just got the new hot pink ipod nano, i love it! It comes in other colours too
green,blue, pink- 4gb
silver-2gb
black-8gb
My 4 gig hold nearly 1000 songs, and its wonderful, so i suppose this is just a recommendation, but its really lovely, how old is she?
my fave coulour nano is the red one available only from apple's webbie.

Thanks for your replies.
She is almost 12 and her fave colour is pink so I might investigate the ipod nano - depends on how much it costs tho.

Thanks again
The red nano is a special one where they give a bit to charity. They do a standard one that's silver, 2GB, that stores plenty.

The shuffle weighs in at 55, the nano at 99.
