I already have points my provisional license.
I had an emergency well maybe not as such, but i had to pick my brother up from the airport whom i hadn't seen in about 6 years.(IT WAS A SURPRISE SO I WASNT DRIVING ON PREMEDITATION) Anyway to cut the story short i ended up crashing the car which belonged to my sister, just around the corner of her house.
I turned myself into the police station, almost 6 months later i recieve a court summons. i can plead guilty via written statement of mitigation.

can anyone help with what i can write in my defence i have already admitted to driving without a full license, but the charges are driving without due care and without insurance.

EVEN by pleading guilty and giving myself up to the police what chances do i stand of NOT getting a ban?
bearing in mind i alreaddy have 6 points on my license, and am taking driving lessons and hopefully book my test before the court date.????
Thanks alot whoever can shed any sort of light on my situation.

No prison, Ethel. None of the offences committed carry a custodial sentence.
6 months imprisonment for twoc - the owner is claiming this person took the car without her consent or knowledge:

The deed is done. I guess he knows he did wrong. I think people should be free to open up in a forum like this without fear of direct criticism. I mean. What's the point? He now goes: 'Ah, so it's WRONG? Damn! Ok then, won't do it next time!' Or will he (and others) go (**** it, I'll be damned if I fess up online again'.
ps, It's a far more serious crime to pervert the course of justice, I wouldn't do that under any circumstances, personally.
Yes, sorry Ethel, you're quite right. I didn't read all the details of the sorry saga properly.
meridth, have I ever done anything wrong??? in the many years i have been driving I have not once received a ticket, fine or points.

Its seems you are condoning his stupid actions. You are as bad as the culprit. What if he killed your daughter or a family member, would you still sympathise?

Stop trying to be the peacekeepr and make yourself look good and wake up and smell the coffee. THere is no excuse for what he did and you know it. What did he expect to receive on here, a pat on the back.

Get real
....lets end this discusssion.

Nate, you will receive points, fine and possibly a ban. Im sorry mate but you deserve it. you should have learnt from your previous mistake.

Take the punishment like a man.

End of.
Apart from driving offences, what have you done wrong, spaced? Is your slate pretty clean as the driven snow? Done nothing wrong?

Yer, you've done wrong, like the rest of us. Probably hurt someone, too, like the rest of us. Do you fully understand it? If not, ask a question on here. You might get some primaryteacher/betterthanthou/DailyMailReader/HowDareYou type coming on telling you how **** you are for having done it, just ignore them. Afterall, you know you did wrong, correct? Your question wouldn't be: I did this wrong thing, can you tell me: is it really wrong? As if the respondents were your mum and dad and you were a 5 year old.
I'm not being the peacekeeper/trying to look good. I don't give a toss what you think of me. You don't even know who I am. What I give a toss about is people not being able to come on here and ask whatever they want, without fear of some holier than thou giving them a tikking off just to make themselves feel a bit holy. Give it up!
ps. from the original question:

" turned myself into the police station""..............
another WIND UP.
Norman, your contribution to the discussion pays testament to your intellectual acumen.

meredith blah blah blah yawn zzzz boring sleep

I cant see what my errors in life have to do with you, and what relevance they have to this situation and to this idiot.

How you can condone this moron is beyond me and say that he does not deserve to be verbally crucified. Hurt anyone? are you mad? You belong in Room 101 sweetheart.

Ive asked questions on here before and have been crucified, its part of the package, deal with it.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, you are entitled to yours. So dont come on here having a go at people about having a pop at some guy who ALREADY has 6 points on his PROVISIONAL LICENCE (do you know what one is?), and then getting in the car AGAIN and getting into more trouble.

Why wont the fact that HE SHOULD NOT BE ON THE ROAD AND SHOULD HAVE LEARNED FROM HIS LAST MISTAKES, seep into you saw dust clatterd bonce?

People ARE able to come here and ask what they want, but they MUST be prepared for answers and comments that they may not agree with. Do you go through life getting just positive comments given to you?? Wake up love and YOU get real.

Rant over...no offence

MEREDITH, for your infomation we do get a awful lot of idiots on here having a wind up,and i seem to think this is one of them,if you believe its true thats fine, but i do not. and a little less abuse would be nice.
Norman, sincere apologies to you, I thought you were referring to me. I made a joke in one of my threads that was obviously just a joke (breastfeeding my kitten) and got hounded by a couple of nutters on other threads were I obviously wasn't making a windup. As for the Original here, I didn't think it was a windup, maybe you noticed something I didn't. However, I did not mean to insult you, I thought you were having a go at me, ignore it.
spaced, I am by nature very sensitive to road traffic abuses, I lost 2 people very close to me in RTAccidents, both caused by reckless and dangerous driving. However, it is my belief that:
1) when you have a go at a poster in a situation like this, you do not make him change his thinking or behaviour. Do you honestly believe that he will see what you wrote, and have a change of heart? He has already gone to the police voluntarily: so he knows he did something wrong.
2) People will refrain from coming on here and asking questions like the one posed here, because no one likes to be given a ticking off. It's hardly your place. He who is without sin, throw the first stone. I'm sure there's something you've done (we've all done) in your life that you're not proud of that you wouldn't post on here, simply for fear of people having a go at you about it.
So given the low upside to the criticism approach and the large potential downside, I would just leave it out.
I asked a question about caring for my kittens born to an elderly cat, I couldnt believe the answers that were just laying in to me for not getting her spayed. Who are these busybodies?

meredith, nothing said on here is personal so do not take it to heart, but it matters not that he went to the police. He has a previous driving conviciton.....AND HE DOESENT EVEN HAVE A LICENCE. Can you imagine this brainless moron on the road with a licence? Doesnt bare thinking about.

OOOOK. Thank you for all the comments suggestions and insults.
It was wrong I'm not trying to cover that up.
I won't bother sit here and type away a whole bunch of excuses in my defence, but i AM grateful for your responses helpfull or otherwise.
I'm just glad that noone was injured.

PS 'Spaced' this isnt a wind up. It happened and i'm sorry if i'm not as perfect as you.
and yes you are entitled to say whatever you want to which you probably will reply with a paragraph of heated debates about uninsured drivers.
just bear in mind not everybody is perfect like yourself.
maybe your name should be changed to 'SPACED OUT' lol
ooooh look at me i've got a clean driving license bla bla bla. EVEN the most carefull drivers are prone to points to what ever reason so chill out.

THANK YOU TO ALL THE REAL HELPFUL PEOPLE.
spaced no offense, if you want to be the GOD of driving so be it, it would be a shame if you ended up with a a couple points on yours, surely the world would com to and abrupt end.
erm, i think you will find that none of my posts mentioned a wind up mate. I do believe you did this, and I do believe you are a moron.

Now hurry and get to Halfords before they sell out on those cheap bikes boy
oh by the way, have a read of this: -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emergency

Cant seem to find anything about picking up someone from an airport being an emergency...mmm, strange.

Anyway, im far from perfect, but I know the difference between wrong and right, clever and effin reckless.

Quick, halfords shuts in an hour....tut tut
Turn up in court if you can. It shows you take the matter seriously. Some courts think that people who just send in a letter haven't grasped the severity of the issue.Tell them the truth. Ideally, sort out the business of your sister too - she ought to be ready to say she knew you had the car, if the alternative is having you risk going to prison. This will presumably involve admitting you lied. Apologise. I can't tell you how to apologise convincingly; but again, if you look like you're having a laugh, you'll be in trouble.
