hey all, i'm under the impression that it is having your license for 3years+ and must be over 21!
But does it matter if that person has points??

No. As long as you have a full valid licence for the vehicle in question, points don't matter. As you say, the other 2 rules are having held a full licence for at least 3 yrs and being over 21.
No, just as long as he has a full valid driving license.
The supervising driver must be under the legal limit for alcohol, and not use a mobile phone aswell.
And be wearing glasses if they need them to be able to drive, basically all the rules that apply to a driver apply to a person supervising a learner.
I've always wondered how this applies to driving examiners, they look away from the road to write things down etc. and I'm pretty sure the supervisor isn't supposed to.
The one that gets me Fitzer (being an LGV driver) is that an examiner for an LGV or PCV test doesn't have to hold the licence themselves!
