Motorcycle suspension set-up...

Hi!

I've recently bought a 2001 Kawasaki ZX-6R (J1) to play around with over (what's left of) the summer. It's a lovely clean bike but the suspension seems to be very soft, especially noticeable on the twisty country roads, and rebounds quite badly over any dents in the road surface. The guy I bought it from was quite a big fella, so I'm guessing he had the suspension damping adjusted for his weight.
I weigh 14st (89kg), but have no idea what the suspension set-up should be for that weight (how many clicks to H or L). Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Just buy a fork kit and change the oil, and replace rear coil-over for an upgrade. Pretty easy really. You can do at home.
Does it have monoshock rear suspension? If so they're expensive to replace. Look for oil leaks at the base of the shocker unit. If oil has been lost due to a failed oil seal the damping will be very poor.
If the front suspension is soft you could replace the fork oil with a more viscous grade.
