A friend has the above vehicle. The power steering has gone and he can't afford to repair it, but he's still driving it. Will this cause any lasting damage? Any comments would be appreciated please.

what exactly is meant by gone ? usually when the p/s packs up it can be virtually impossible to turn the steering wheel..making it undriveable !

He said he's lost most of the power steering fluid. Sorry that's as much as I know. He's not very mechanically minded. He said it is driveable put hard on the steering.
No it won't do any harm, but there is case for being prosecuted for not having proper control of the vehicle. It'll be hard to steer especially for parking etc, he'll end up developing the arms/shoulders a fair bit!
depends how its losing the fluid if its a seal which the chances are it is it would be a gradual loss and you could get by short term topping it up. If its dumped most of the fluid in one go then its a serious issue ...either way it shouldnt really be driven..
If he looses all the fluid and the power steering pump gets to the point where it is running dry he may do damage to that

Although that might already be the problem in the first place. I think they're about £150 or so for the part with say £100 labour
Top up the fluid?
