I have a Freelander, & when I start the engine it does all its normal checks, but the ABS light on the dashboard stays on until I go over approx 5MPH. According to the Land Rover book it is a fault indication somewhere on the ABS system. But a very good garage has said that there are no faults on the ABS. They have said they have checked another Freelander and it does the same. I'm not normally so dubious but it being a safety issue, does anyone out there have or had the same car, & would you mind telling me what this light does when you start up the engine......... Many thanx...

I know how to google search, or even contact a garage, but what I am after is information from people who have or have had this particular car. Hence the above question......... Thanx anyway though........
My dad had a Freelander and the ABS light stayed on for a couple of minutes after starting off every time. I don't think it's anything to worry about. Only if it stays on all the time.
I know it doesn't really relate to a Landrover, but on articulated trucks, if the trailer is fitted with ABS the little green light on the headboard of the trailer and the warning light on the dashboard won't go out until you are over 10kph (as a self test sort of thing). I imagine this is the same sort of thing, though you would have thought Landrover would get their handbook right. Just a thought.
