Hi

Does anyone know if administration costs for changing insurance over to another vehicle can be reclaimed when you are having to change the insurance due to your car being written off by another driver (my mate has claimed against the other guy but has only just got another car and is now having to pay). It's not a large amount circa 30 but due to the current climate any spare cash is a bonus....

Thanks in advance

:-)

As far as I'm aware, he can reclaim ANY expenses incurred as a result of an accident that wasn't his fault. Best place to start would be to speak to his insurance company. If no good, speak to the other persons insurance company - go to the claims dept.
Hi stella:

I get the impression that the original write-off incident happened some time ago?

If the answer is yes, and the matter has been concluded by both insurance companies, then it is highly unlikely that the other guy's insurance will entertain a further claim from your mate. He has nothing to lose by trying it but I'd doubt he'll be successful.

He should seek advice from his own insurance company asap. Good luck.
