my indicators on my 1998 ford escort have stopped working altogether the problem started when i was driving and my indicator light came on on the dash but wasnt flashing so i got out and noticed the drivers side indicator lights were just stuck on not even flashing i even took out the fuse to but they still wouldnt go off i had to take the bulbs out of the front and back although the light on the dash remained on but went off around 20 mins later the next day i put the fuse back in and bulbs but theres nothing when i flick the indicator arm up and down its just dead????????????

It's almost certainly a duff flasher unit. The good news is that flasher units for Ford vehicles are dirt cheap, readily obtainable and really easy to replace. (The flasher unit should be located just below the indicator arm. It's usually just a matter of unplugging the old unit and plugging the new one in).
