I recently had the engine replaced in my 1.8 mondeo zetec lx due to the bottom end blowing on the old one. The day after i got it back from the garage i put the headlights on like usual and the car started juddering and then the engine cut out, it keeps doing this every time you put the headlights on. I had it back to the garage to get it checked out but they say it is nothing to do with the work they have done and dont have a clue what the problem is, although this was not happening before they replaced the engine. Do you think this is a problem with the new engine or could it be something else, and if so do you have any idea why this is happening.

Electrical issue.

Does the car do this with any other type of device active - ie if you switch the rear screen demister etc, or is it only the lights that do this ?

Report back pls

Regards.
