Hi all
I have a 1999 Golf which has recently failed MOT due to above the limit carbon emissions. The mechanic said it is burning oil. I hardly use this car. What will be the cheapest option to repair this problem ?

Thanks Zacsmaster, I will start with the oil change first and see the outcome.

just one thing Fellow make sure you use the correct oil VW recommend 10/40 semi synthetic.
however it would help if you gave us more detail eg:- engine size & type petrol or diesel.
