First time at the car wash!

I passed my test last week, and really want to take my car through the car wash at the petrol station. The problem is, my car has a radio aerial on the roof, which points at about a 45 degree angle and doesn't retract. Does anyone else have an aerial positioned there (I've noticed many cars do), and is it safe to use a car wash, or is there a way to take it off? By the way, I have a K Reg Clio.
Cheers

It's probably an ariel which unscrews. You will need to take it off, or it may break when the brushes go over.
as the other person said it may unscrew, not from the car however, the stem may unscrew from the thick base part, or you could just take it to a place where they wash your car by hand!
if it dosent unscrew, tape it down on the roof and go through like that
I've been thru them without taking off the aeriel (similar to yours) and there's been no problem. But I do it at my own risk!
As you have just got a Clio, see here..........

Clios are notorious for getting water leaks through the aerial mountings and sunroof if you have a sunroof, join the forum and look it up.

Many thanks for your suggestions, but it doesn't screw off either. I will try the Renault forum. Cheers
