That's a main dealer price - get a friendly mechanic to do it as a private job and it won't break the bank.

�250 is about right for a main dealer. Had mine done last month ( 2ltr Auto Mondeo 56,000 miles) by a competent one-man mechanic and he charged �150. Make sure you ask for a cambelt kit. That consists of belt and tensioner.

And renew the auxillary drive belt and even the water pump whilst everything is stripped down.
