To transfer a registration mark from one vehicle to another you will need to complete a V317 - Transfering a Vehicle Registration Number application form. Application forms can be obtained from DVLA's network of local offices. The cost of transfer is 80
I have changed my car and bike number plate several times over the years, DVLA have always automaticaly given me the origonal number my vehicles had when I swapped my personalized plate to a new vehicle.

How do I sell my registration?
If you want to sell your registration we suggest you approach a private dealer or advertise the registration for sale yourself. DVLA's sales scheme is confined to selling it's own previously unissued registrations. We do not endorse or recommend any particular individual or company.
