probably not in this case. Navy Blue and Black are fairly similar. If it was in shadow, could easily be mistaken
You can definitely dispute the ticket if you weren't illegally parked.
'Fraid not - it's not like they confused orange and green is it? And even then, if the Reg. Number is yours, they've got you.
Yes you can. If there is any fault on the ticket ie. wrong colour, reg, make etc. then the ticket becomes void. The ticket must be an exact match to the car it is placed upon, if the ticket says black and your car is blue (does not matter of the shade) then the ticket is invalid. Phone the number on the ticket and explain you are disputing the ticket, they will tell you to put it in writting to your local chief constable, and he will write back saying sorry for the ticket and you will not have to pay. I know this because i did in in Darlington about 2 months ago and won.

Cool just wrote a letter now.

Thanks
Always dispute a parking ticket even if details are correct and you were illegaly parked, try all excuses you can think of, I did when I worked in London and got off 75% of tickets.
worth a go.
I got one from euro car parks for not being in a designated bay. I wasn't even in their car park, so I told them politely to f off
All I can say is that you were extremely lucky homerthegreat. The colour listed on the penalty is not a statutory field and providing all the other details are correct having black instead of blue will not invalidate a ticket.
The tw@s carry digital cameras in our city !!!!!!
***NEWSFLASH***

Recent research carried out by a group of highly stoned monkeys suggests that parking responsibly has an almost 100% reduction in the reciept of parking tickets and their accompanying fines.

However the monkeys were subsequently sent for crash helmet testing as their seeming morality was frighteningly uncommon
If you're parked illegally there can be no reason to dispute a ticket; you knew the rules, you broke them, you deserve the fine.
I got a ticket on Saturday afternoon, I went onto the council website to look @ the "Evidence" as the traffic wardens also carry digital cameras in my town, the photos are not actually of my car. So I have disputed and am waiting to hear from them!! Fingerscrossed......
I got stopped by a traffic warden the other day as I was walking by. He asked me to confirm whether the colour of the car he was about to ticket was silver or grey. When I asked what difference it made, he said the driver could dispute it otherwise.
If he asked you, why didn't you just say it was the opposite colour of what you thought it was. Then dispute lol.
Oh I just read, as you were walking by.

A lot of wardens have a limit they have to reach so they will go out of their way to put a ticket on a car.
My husband just recieved a non endorsable fixed penalty notice. He parked his car on the grass verge outside our house. On the ticket, the vehicle registration number is wrong (1st two characters) and you can not read the reason for the ticket. The bit that is 'sort of readable' is spelt incorrectly. Can he appeal?
