My boy got a parking ticket yesterday morning for parking in a 'Permit Holders Only' parking bay near his local hospital where his girlfriend had an early morning appointment.
The Registration mark on the ticket is correct but the make is given as velocette rather than Vauxhall......
Naturally, as all the parking spaces around the hospital were full, he feels a little aggrieved at having been caught and would like to know if this incorrect description of his car can enable him to contest the ticket.

Just pay it, I had one which described the colour of my car wrongly but if the reg is right nothing you can do apart from not do it again. Its a ballache I know lol.
as long as the reg is correct, then im afraid hes been tangoed.
What they might do if he ignores it is do a reg search and when the error comes up, re-issue the amended ticket with the correct details - it will catch up with him eventually. It's the reg that matters not the colour or make/model.
The vehicle make would normally be for internal use when comparing the penalty against the dvla reply received.

But might well be worth appealing providing you aren't penalised for doing so. Most councils will consider an informal appeal prior to the notice to owner being issued.
Helpful answer: Teach him what "Peremit Holders Only" means.
