power stearing

hi can you tell me how i go about having power stearing put onto my escort mistral it is a 95 model but has no power steering on it , also how much it would cost me to put this on thanks amanda

It would probably cost more than what the car is worth. But if you managed to get a friendly mechanic to take all the parts off an Escort in a scrapyard and then put them on yours it might be a bit cheaper. Still an expensive job though.

If you really need power steering better to put money towards another vehicle. Your escort is too old to justify spending a lot of money on something like this.

It would be physically possible,but uneconomic like the others say,its just a thought but have you checked the tyre pressures recently? sometimes just a few p.s.i. under inflated can make a real difference to the effort required to turn the wheel.

thankyou i have today and also had the wheels down graded to 13 from 16 and this has made the steering a lot better thanks again amanda
