My partner has a 1999 V reg ford KA. When she turns the steering wheel when driving there apppears to be a leak occuring of what looks like oil or power steering fluid. when she turns the wheel, it makes a noise as if you can hear the hydraulics struggling. once you stop driving this leek soon stops. i cleaned it up and turned the engine on and droved backwards and forwards without turning the wheel, and the leek didn't appear. when you start turning the wheel the leek reappears. think its the power steering fluid leeking, HELP, problem costs involved etc

It is probably the steel part of the pipe work from the power steering pump that run,s across the front of the car, down the nearside of the engine to the rack. The pipes are available from your local Ford dealer but as it's quite a fiddly job I wouldnt attempt it unless your pretty competent.
Cost's ( in Sth Yorks ) around 120 + vat

I bought Ford Used Ka in Jun 2007 and steering noise problem started just after couple of months... In Jan 2008 suddenly it stopped on Road and reason was oil leakage from steering pump.. Ford asked me $2,000 for repair...
