flashing battery light - 1995 espace

Hi I have a 1995 espace. it's a sound car, but over the last week or so, the battery light keeps flashing, but is not consistant. I thought I have some loose connections, but have tightened up the connectores to the battery.. Any Ideas?

Spray rear of alternator with WD40 check alternator connection block - if it's a push fitting pull it on and off a few times and give it a spray of WD40 - sounds like a bad connection most probably on alternator. Assume the belt is ok as the light comes on intermittently.

could be alternater carbon brushes sticking used to happen a lot on my wifes fiesta.
