rover 75 passenger air bag

does anybody know how to immobilise the passenger air bag on a rover 75???. i would like to put a child seat in the front rather than in the back but i have found out that it is illeagal while the airbag is working.

I think its also illegal to immobilise an airbag yourself - it will almost certainly invalidate your insurance.
I think Rover should be able to do it but i'm sure they dont encourage it.
I know Saab wont do it (i was in the same situation) and was warned not to try it myself.
Its not worth the hassle if you ask me.
