I did 36 in a 30 zone. Do I just pay up and that's it? And then it's forgotten about?

Stuff worrying about the points. It was a one off wasn't it ? No need to be partonised by some lecturer. Pay their pound of flesh and put it behind you.

How apt - zoom.
My only fine was in the 80s.
I was 36 years old and it was £36. A pound a year I thought, so good value.

Thank you so much guys, but I do feel like a crim. Sad face
Agree with lankeela @13.20.
yeah, read the letter
I was offered a course which I did
(which they rarely are now)

you can book in person oop t north. I found it useful.
First question why are you here

I said - I a here because I broke a rule that has relevance and safety to other road users, pedestrians and children

and he said - you can go now.....

If you hit a pedestrian: at 40 mph there is a 90 percent chance they will be killed. at 35 mph there is a 50 percent chance they will be killed. at 30 mph there is a 20 percent chance they will be killed.

The stat I learnt was if you 'bullseye' a windscreen ( think about it) you have an 80% chance of dying
Treacle in my opinion doing 36 in a 30 zone is worse than doing 100 on a motorway for the simple reason there are people walking about in 30 zones. Children playing around who may well run out into the road after a ball without thinking or looking first.

I hope you've learnt your lesson and won't do it again. Promise?
ladybirder, I always do 30mph on motorways. Everyone honks in approval...
LOL. Chuckling here jno.
Something to remember from Barrys post.
Note that if you have completed a speed awareness course within the previous three years, you will not be eligible to take another one, and will automatically receive points instead.

With the offence dates being used to calculate the three years. And there's one exception - Dorset. That county does not participate in NDORS - the National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme. This means that if you commit an offence in Dorset and do a Dorset course you can still commit another offence elsewhere in E&W within three years and still be eligible for a course. Similarly, if you do a course for an offence committed elsewhere, you can commit an offence in Dorset within three years and be eligible for a course.
Oh give Treacle a break, yes speeding is dangerous but i defy anyone to say they haven't ever done this.
Fair point, Darcey, but don't complain if you get caught
I agree Darcey. Treacle should be congratulated for having such a good record in the past.
my friend was 35 in a 30 and got done..he opted to do the course ..which actually was cheaper than the fine ..and no points.. only get the one chance at this though..do it !
do it again within 3 years..no choice ^^
Hopkirk, can I have a medal? No speeding ticket, no endorsements, no parking ticket.
Yes, I do drive :D

I'd like to thank each and every one of you who answered me. I feel a lot better now. When I first received my 'notice' letter I got a fright, but I don't feel so bad now. It's a shame I have to choose one answer as 'the best', as so many answers were 'best'. Thank you guys, again xx
Yes Barry. You deserve one.
