Friday. Anyone doing anything interesting or exciting this weekend? I have nothing planned. Just the usual domesticity, No idea if there is anything on the idiot box, I'll have a look in a minute.
Have a happy day everyone.

Bit early today, WBM? :-)

Or can't you sleep either...?
Question Author
Morning Jim, woke up early and couldn't get off again.
How are you?
I am effing wide awake, thanks for asking.

My doctor has prescribed sleeping pills. I will not take them.
Question Author
I agree, they can be addictive. I was offered some and turned them down. I can always have a snooze on the recliner later.
Question Author
Any plans for the day jim?
Well, my first meeting is at 9.15am... :-) I'm supposed to be retired, but was 'persuaded' back to work by an American company I'd worked for years ago to help them with their COVID stuff. This is the way of things.
Question Author
Something to do, isn't it! I was medically retired 2000, due to lung problems.
Oh! Much sympathy... :-(
Question Author
Thank you. It can be hard work breathing at times.
That sucks, man... :-(
Question Author
looking at it from another point of view, it meant I could look after Vera full time when she had cancer.
Question Author
it certainly does, but there is nothing can be done about it.
Oh man, I can't begin to comprehend how that must have been... :-(
Question Author
She has cancer twice, the second one being a secondary to the first one, meant it was incurable. All that could be done was to dose her up with powerful analgesics to keep her comfortable. She never complained.
I'm so sorry...
Question Author
Thank you. I'm not sure I could be that brave!
Question Author
She was allowed to stay at home because I'm a medic, we also had a nurse from Longfield Hospice came in everyday. I'm now an ambassador for the hospice.
I'm humbled.
Question Author
It's just a case of doing something to try and pay a bit back for all the help they gave us. I did a fundraiser to raise sixty thousand pounds to extend the creative therapy wing of the hospice. I did that in six weeks! Including a sponsored parachute jump, which raised ten thousand!
Wow!
