My scooter made a BANG!!

<PRE>last night when I started it up. It had been covered all day so it wasn't wet. The sound seemed to come from the exhaust but can't be sure as I had my helmet on. I havent had any problems with it, before or after the bang. Just curious as to what it was... Its 100cc. Thanks. Matt</PRE>

My husband used to go in for all the biggish cars. The last one was a Nissan 4x4 and it was a bit big for just me going to work so I have bought myself a Kia Picanto. Cheap to buy, cheap to run, cheap to tax and cheap to insure. I love it actually and its red.

Possibly unburnt petrol getting through to the exhaust system then igniting when you start the engine. Could be a problem with the air / petrol mixture.
