No
If your changing the oil and not the oil filter then your wasting your time and money. If you mean just changing the filter then, as its a small job, probably.
Yes.

False economy for a few quid, in my opinion.

For the price of it, mine gets done every 5000,well worth the money to keep your car tip/top.
Are you changing your oil.......?
If so what car and age?
It's cars that do low mileage (particularly if it's made up of lots of short trips) that need MORE attention than others. Certainly more frequent oil changes...and it would be counter-productive not to change the filter at the same time.
You would have to drop the oil out first to change a filter ,so why put the old filter back on. I used to do an oil change on my Mk1 Focus every 4 months or so , plus a filter change every other. Ran sweet as a nut for 15 years.
change the filter when you change the oil.
there's also a difference if you live in the hills or in East Anglia or the Somerset levels.....however most oils work over 8000 mile intervals, some (the full synthetics) can go for two years.
Not unless you only do short journeys, i.e. less than 10 miles at a time from cold.
