I am not an expert, but, if you drive along at a slowish speed, then put the car into second gear, then start to brake while throttling up, if the car stalls then its not the clutch plate, but if the car revs up it is slipping and probably needs a new clutch. if it doesn't rev up, it could be a cylinder that is leaking or not releasing the piston properly. you could probably find a garage that will give a diagnosis for free.
Any other symptoms such as rattling noise from the clutch area ?.

no there is no other noises engine sounds fine
Possibly oil is getting onto the flywheel/ clutch plate, if so it will be a leaky oil seal.
If I were you I would bleed the clutch hydraulic system first though just to eliminate that it's something as simple as air in the system.

oh that dose make sense the car dose have a little oil leak thanks for you help ill get it checked out.
As far as I know the Zafira has a cable clutch so it would be difficult to bleed the system.
Sorry. Just checked and some do have a hydraulic clutch system.
Graham, it only took 3 minutes to check and you could have saved face.
