ti stands for Turbo Injection on most cars, im not sure if it applys to the BMWs but I would have thought so.

It doesn't stand for anything in particular, but it means it's the Compact Sport model, as opposed to the more standard Compact SE model.

The only BMW road cars to have turbos fitted are ones with diesel engines, in which case your compact would be a 318tds.

The t traditionally stands for Touring, not Turbo, and the i for injection.

the Ti just signifies that it is a compact as the Ci signifies that it is a Coupe. The only way to tell if the car is a sport spec is by deeper bumpers, side skirts, bigger alloys, sports seats etc.

Its definately not (T) for Touring as this is a completely different model to the compact.
