I am considering buying a 1992 (ish) Mercedes 230 CE (or possible 220) pillarless coupe - I was wondering whether anyone has or has had this car and what they thought of it ? What sort of mpg will it deliver ? Thanks.

By "pillarless coupe", do you mean a CLK?

No. I mean the older version of the CLK. I believe they were made until 1995. Like the one in this link - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mercedes-E220-Coupe-Auto-1996N_W0Q QitemZ4573616532QQcategoryZ9855QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Ahhhhhh, an E class! right well, an 1996 copy of Car magazine I have here lists the E230's fuel consumption as 35.5 mph. The E220 is listed as 30.9 mph, so neither are too thirsty.
Hey, can I come and watch you try and get 30+mpg from one of these in normal everyday running ? 30+ sounds O.K. for moderate M/way cruising but I'd think low 20's for around town. Fuel efficient they are not, but cheap-to-run is not why people buy them.
