Being inspired by Johnny Cash, I have decided to take a job at GM on the assembly line with the intention of sneaking out various car parts so I can eventually build my own Cadillac.

From what I can make out, Johnny Cash had some quite serious compatability problems when the time came to piece it all together. The main issue being that over the years GM changed parts on the Cadillacs that weren't compatable with other years.

Can anyone provide me with a list of what parts would be an ideal fit with others so I can acheive my ambition of driving my dream car. Workshop manauls may also be useful. Thanks.

I was under the impression that I already had one. Of course if you disagree with that then maybe you could point me in the right direction as to how I can obtain one.

try body and soul?
OK, you may get away with carrying pistons out, but how about the engine block, doors, etc??
It would take years
It's stealing from your employers. You'll probably get caught.. fined .. maybe serve a jail sentence.. employers will not touch you with a bargepole..
You should work, do overtime.. save up and buy one

for the larger parts, like Johnny Cash, I'll sneak them out in my mates caravanette. I figure I'll have it all by the time I'm retired.

Then you'll have you a car worth at least a hundred grand..........................

Sorry couldn't resist that, it's my favourite Johnny Cash song
