Does anyone know how I can find out how much a personalised number plate is worth. We bought one for our sons 18th birthday 15 years ago we paid £200 for it, we want to sell it for him as he now lives abroad but not sure how to find how much it is worth. Thanks.

It'll depend entirely on what it reads. Care to share it?
DVLA have lists of numbers that are to be auctioned of at their next auction. See a similar one and check what reserve price they have put on it.
My now deceased father in law bought a personal plate for £200 in the early 1990's. he died in 2003 and none of the family wanted the plate it sold for £3,500. His plate was A1 and his initials. His initials were originally registered in Anglesey or that direction so they were quite rare apparently.

The number plate is FIL and then four numbers.
^^^ That's a Northern Ireland number. There used to be a rule that they couldn't be used here, but I have an idea that's changed. I used to work for a distiller that got GIN 1, GIN 2 etc, but they weren't allowed to put them on to their company cars.
