hi folks ive searched the web high and low for details of the pattisson 3 wheeler motor trucks from the early 1980's. the trucks i remember were made by h pattisson limited who were a producer of golf course equipment. the only motor vehicles i can find made by pattissons are tractors from the 1950's/ 60's. the vehicles i remember were 3
wheeler utility trucks that were used by local councils including kirklees council in west yorkshire. can anyone remember these trucks?. is it possible that any of these trucks are still in around and in use today?

I've never heard of them, but if you're doing a search using Google, or some other means .... are you sure it's spelt Pattison and not Patterson ??
Just some food for thought.

I'm sure Tate & Lyle used these around the docks at Liverpool, they were used for shunting.
To add, these trucks was also used on the Coal yard in Bangor N.Wales by British Rail.

thanks for info folks. the ones i remember had a roof and windscreen which could be detatched for the summertime. they ran on diesel or 2stroke and had a handlebar steering mechanism rather than a steering wheel. it is unlikely any of these trucks are still around as the ones i knew were 'x' registration plates which dates them 1981/1982. however if they were maintained well it is a possibility.
The ones I remember at Bangor + Liverpool pulled in-line trailers Charmer, I've been checking on Tate & Lyle Liverpool in the 60>>>>70S but unable as yet to find a pic or site, If I can find I will contact you.
This article on Harold Pattisson mentions the golf connections but not any vehicles made by his company. could the vehicle be the 3 wheeled Scammel?

Question Author
thanks vulcan i have looked at link you provided and i also found the same document whilst doing a search for h pattisson limited. the link is correct at identifying this as the company who produced the 3wheel trucks. there doesn't seem to be anything much online regarding these quaint little machines. the trucks were similar to some trucks made by a company called bonser which has some info online but when it comes to pattissons im drawing a blank.
Question Author
hi vulcan. i have looked at the scammel trucks you suggested and yes there are some
similarities such as the small size of the vehicles. the scammel ones
look more like proper trucks than the pattisson ones. the scammels had proper doors whereas the pattisson trucks didn't have doors.
