Ignoring supercars, & expensive prestige vehicles, are there any cars that are worth buying for the driving satisfaction alone? It doesn't need to be a high performance, sporty, or even that striking, just something that you've found really nice to drive in the real world of everyday motoring and commuting. A car that works with you, not against you.

Yes .... mine : )
Mazda MX5. Corners like a dream, rear wheel drive and NO. You won't look like a girl.
A bit more fun is the Mazda RX8 if you can stand the fuel consumption.
^ Great cars if you are a hairdresser : )
Honda S2000
Of all the cars I've driven, the Ford Ka (the model before the current one) is the best drive - it hugs the road like no other car, corners like a dream, accelerates beautifully and goes like a little rocket!
I love my Ford KA, cheap insurance and tax, easy to park in town, cheap to run!..............love it!........would not change it!...........servicing and repairs are cheap too!.......love it!.....
Noble M12 or my current little toy Tiger E1 SuperCat Kit Car self built
Golf GTI or Skoda Superb 3.0 4wd diesel (amaxing car)
2CV
^^welshie sniggers
I wouldn't change my Peugeot 407sw for anything else.
Moonie - good sheep carrier!!
Every person's choice is different Mata, myself I have a German coupe, I like the car it performs well, its comfortable /reliable/ has a good re-saleable price, you have to look what you want in a car, do you have a family? you need space, do you do a lot of DIY? you may need a Estate, you need to choose the type Derv / Petrol why? It up to the mileage you drive, very high mileage a Derv, they are very good in the Winter time with no damp starting, do they have leather seats? if no heated seats ( Cold @rse) if you decide on one in particular do your home work! service costs, service history, how many owners, is it taxed / tested, & how long are they in force, do a FULL HP check before you even bye, check the MOTs? does the mileage follow on from the last MOT ( On average 10,000 per year) check the window markings! are they orig? what I mean by that, have the car been stolen due to someone smashing a window to gain entry, you can also check this by looking under ALL SEATS for glass traces, check the condition of the seat cloths / leathers for tears etc. At the end of the day it is you that needs to be suited Mata most important " DO NOT RUSH THE PURCHASE" BY DOING THAT YOU could COME UNSTUCK.
Manta ( Sorry)
P11 Primera GT :)
Manta? Good god .. how old's that?!
Thought they had all expired.
I used to have a bright fluorescent green manta GTE :)
my car, Alfa Romeo 147.. although I would think any Alfa would be an excellent drive!

never mind the insurance :o/
I thought Alfas were good to drive WHEN they don't break down - Dunno
A 2.0 injection 16 valve Honda Prelude, the 1989 or 1990 era type, they were great, with 4 wheel steering you could go round corners at any speed and not skid easy either. You pack pick them up for next to nothing now too and insure them as a classic car. Unleaded fuel too.
