power steering gone wrong. mechanic, says it needs new steering column......something electrical works power steering any ideas

common problem on these and punto's
unfortunatly fiat will not supply individual parts, you have to buy a full steering colum/electric motor and ecu all in one

robbing b a s t a r d s FIAT are. they pull the same stunt with the wiper linkage on the mk 2 punto, when you buy a wiper linkage you need to buy a b l o o d y motor too as its not removable. any othr car you can use the original motor on the new linkage but but not fiat.
